MIDAS AND KLARK TEKNIK LAUNCH RAFT OF NEW PRODUCTS AT PLASA 2010

London, September 2010: Midas and Klark Teknik have launched a raft of important new products at PLASA 2010 on Stand 1-F19.

Debuting worldwide at the show is the VeniceF: a brand new ‘digi-log’ ultra-compact mixing console designed by Alex Cooper, complete with FireWire 32-channel digital audio interface, new mic preamps and Propellerhead recording and processing trial software bundle.

Products shown for the first time in Europe are two additions to the PRO Series, the PRO3 and PRO9; the XL8i; a new range of Midas digital snakes and new digital audio format and sample rate converters from Klark Teknik.

The PRO9 tops the Midas PRO Series, providing an 88 channel input count and 35 buses, while the cost-effective Midas PRO3 still offers the connectivity of a Heritage 3000. This expanded range will ensure that even more touring riders and professional installations can take advantage of Midas’ digital features.

The XL8i is an addition to the top of Midas’ digital audio line-up, offering the connectivity of the XL8 touring pack in a more compact and lower cost I/O format and designed with the install, theatre and house of worship market in mind.

All the new systems use exactly the same technology and components as the XL8 and PRO6.

Additionally, a full range of standalone Midas digital snake and line system products, together with the new Klark Teknik DN9650 and DN9652 very high channel count digital audio format converters with integral sample rate conversion and clock isolation, are being shown.

Midas Klark Teknik recently announced that it is doubling the size of its R&D staff with vacancies at all levels for relevant software and hardware skills. This fulfils a commitment made by Uli Behringer when the Music Group acquired Midas Klark Teknik in February.

“2010 has been an amazing year for Midas Klark Teknik,” says managing director John Oakley. “The Music Group is making substantial investments in MKT, and this plethora of new releases will allow more people than ever to use our products. The new digital consoles offer on the one hand more power and on the other, lower cost entry to Midas mixing, while the new digital snakes and multichannel format converters extend the versatility and ease of use of our audio line systems to a greater market.

“As well as three new digital consoles we are debuting a new, highly capable version of the Venice. The VeniceF includes the processing, effects and recording capability normally associated with digital consoles but at a fraction of the price and with the traditional Midas sound and rugged build qualities.”
