Midas and Klark Teknik announces launch of Midas Consoles Japan and Italy

PLASA 2009, LONDON: Midas and Klark Teknik have announced the formation of Midas Consoles Japan and Midas Consoles Italy, both of which take over as exclusive distributor for their respective country with immediate effect.

Based in Tokyo the new, brand-orientated division of Bestec Audio is dedicated to the sales and after sales support of Midas and Klark Teknik products in Japan. General manager Takayuki Ozaki joins the company from EVI Audio Japan, where he worked with Midas and Klark Teknik products for 13 years. He is joined by executive vice president Tadato Nishimura.

“I encountered the Midas XL3 in 1993 when I was involved in the concert sound industry, and I still remember how very much I was impressed by it then,” he says. “I joined the EVI Audio Group to sell Midas and Klark Teknik products in 1996 and from that time on, I have been the product manager for the brands in Japan.

“We’ve founded Midas Consoles Japan with Bestec Audio to provide stronger support for the concert sound market. Our aim is to create great sound and impress everyone by it.”

Midas Consoles Italy is headed up by general manager Pierfranco Galeone, who also represented the Midas and Klark Teknik brands at Texim Audio. “The aim of this new company is to create a great interest in the Midas and Klark Teknik brands throughout the professional community by supporting our clients with special events, seminars and training,” says Galeone. “Midas Consoles Italy will be able to focus completely on the two brands within a single company, following the Midas and Klark Teknik policies by applying them in our country.”

The announcement comes at a time of huge development for the brands, particularly in light of the rapid uptake of the Midas XL8 and PRO6 digital systems. The new companies give Midas and Klark Teknik direct control of the distribution channels in these regions, allowing them the flexibility and freedom to respond to the market and tailor the sales and service network accordingly.

Editors' information:

Midas live performance mixing consoles have been used by the world's most demanding sound engineers, performers and rental companies for three decades. The company strives to raise the standards of sonic quality through its programme of continual research and development, implementing new control functionality and user-friendly desk operation to anticipate and accommodate the ever-evolving needs of audio professionals who specify Midas consoles for their major tours, festivals, international events, broadcast projects and prestigious fixed installations.

Klark Teknik was founded in 1974 and in the years immediately following, their innovative approach to design and development allowed them to introduce some truly groundbreaking designs. Klark Teknik was responsible for one of the world’s first digital delay and digital reverb units, however it was their concepts for equalisation devices that really changed the world of professional audio resulting in the DN370 and the famous DN360. Today Klark Teknik continues to bring innovation in design and dedication to engineering and sonic quality in both the analogue and digital realm of signal processing, with the Square ONE and Show Command and Creative ranges updating the brand.
