MIDAS AND KLARK TEKNIK AT PLASA 2008
The established range of Midas and Klark Teknik products were demonstrated on stand J33 of PLASA 2008, alongside the first public unveiling of a major new Midas system (see separate release). An XL8 Live Performance System and range of Midas analogue consoles were also on demonstration alongside an all-encompassing selection of Klark Teknik and Square ONE signal processing.
Shaping up to be a big player as live recording moves up several gears is the Klark Teknik DN9696 high resolution hard disk recorder, specifically designed for this environment. Three systems are available for demonstration on the stand, and the DN9696 is now being deployed regularly as an easy-to-operate, high resolution recording standard.
The simple-to-use, stand-alone DN9696 offers 96 tracks of 96kHz audio at 24bit and nine hours internal recording time. It features mirrored drive capability, allowing simultaneous internal and external HD recording for real time backup and redundancy. Other features include both front panel and GUI operation, dual redundant AES50 connections, full integration with Midas Digital Systems, standalone recording using Midas XL8 analogue and digital I/O and industry standard Broadcast Wave files (BWAV) which can easily be imported into any DAW system.
Another new product from Klark Teknik, and making its UK debut is the Square ONE Splitter. Housed in a roadworthy, 2U steel chassis, the Square ONE Splitter combines a simple eight-channel solution with a high-performance, Midas XL8-inspired pre-amp design, making it ideal for applications ranging from concert sound to recording.
