Bosch Communications Systems is pleased to announce that, as of July 2007, João Roberto “Cotô” Guarino is its new Sales Engineer for South & Central America. Cotô will provide technical and sales support for the Bosch Communications Systems family of professional audio and intercom brands—Electro-Voice, Dynacord, Midas, Klark Teknik, Telex, RTS.

A sound engineer for over 20 years, Cotô started at Bandeirantes Radio Network (Sao Paulo, Brazil) as a technician, and acquired vast experience as a recording engineer in major Brazilian studios including Transamérica, Artmix, Cardan, Anonimato, Ritz, Chita and Vibe, recording renowned Brazilian artists including Roberto Carlos, RPM, Milton Nascimento, Zizi Possi, Jorge Benjor, Rita Lee, Capital Inicial, Dominguinhos, and many more.

Two decades as a sound engineer and technical production coordinator have seen Cotô lend his expertise to many events featuring Brazilian and international artists at home and abroad. Eight of these years were spent with rock singer Rita Lee; for the past eighteen months he has been in charge of sound for CPM 22. Among other activities related to sound production, Cotô has been responsible for mixing many radio and TV events in Brazil, including the MTV Video Music Awards, Visa Brazilian Music Awards, Garagem da Mix, and Transamérica Live Studio. Cotô’s work as chief sound engineer on Chico César’s album “De Uns Tempos pra Cá” earned him a nomination for Best Sound Engineer at the 2006 Latin Grammy Awards.

“The addition of Cotô to the Bosch Communications Systems sales team will allow us to bring technical sales support and customer training to an even greater number of customers in the growing Latin American market,” comments Franck Fabry, Director of Americas Export Sales, Bosch Communications Systems. “Cotô’s extensive knowledge and experience of professional audio equipment, along with his Brazilian roots, will be an enormous asset to our operations and provide invaluable inroads in our South & Central American expansion plan. And with more than 20 years of experience in broadcast engineering, recording and production in Brazil and Latin America, Cotô will also provide an essential point of contact for clients seeking help with product specifications and recommending the appropriate equipment solutions for their applications. We are delighted to have Cotô on board and look forward to continued growth in Latin America.”

Klark Teknik was founded in 1974 and in the years immediately following, their innovative approach to design and development allowed them to introduce some truly groundbreaking designs. Klark Teknik was responsible for the world’s first digital delay and digital reverb units, however it was their concepts for equalisation devices that really changed the world of professional audio resulting in the DN370 and the famous DN360. Today Klark Teknik continues to bring innovation in design and dedication to engineering and sonic quality in both the analogue and digital realm of signal processing, with the Square ONE and Show Command ranges updating the brand.

Midas live performance mixing consoles have been used by the world's most demanding sound engineers, performers and rental companies for three decades. The company strives to raise the standards of sonic quality through its programme of continual research and development, implementing new control functionality and user-friendly desk operation to anticipate and accommodate the ever-evolving needs of audio professionals who specify Midas consoles for their major tours, festivals, international events, broadcast projects and prestigious fixed installations.
